LO1 task 1 Vlog Script

Hello and welcome to Decent Banter I am Andrey and today I will talk to you about Warp. Warp is a company owned by its founding partners Rob Mitchell and Steve Beckett. After the death of Rob Mitchell in 2001, Beckett decided to continue Warp Films with Mark Herbert. Warp is an independent company. Warp is a cross media because of it owning Warp Records.  Warp was chosen by UK Film Council to be part of Warp X that was also joined by Film 4, "EM Media and Screen Yorkshire. This collaboration was very successful and brought a lot of attention to all the companies involved.

Warp uses Warp Records to advertise itself and it is advertised by the other companies that were involved in Warp X. Warp also uses Wrap Records music in their movies to promote it. But most of their promotion is paid of by Warp.  Warp is not a horizontally integrated company because it doesn't have any other companies distributing its product nether is not a vertically integrated company as they produce but cant distribute for consumption. Warp still have the Pre-production that includes storyboarding, directing, location managing, costume design and casting. Production that involves filming, acting, and sound recording.                    Post-production that involves editing and distributing. Warp however does not have the conglomerate companies like newspapers, magazines and TV to distribute and advertise their products.

Warp produces films; television programs and Warp Records make songs and music. Warp specialise in many types of media but mainly TV and audio. Warp is mainly known for its movies and television programs especially they are known for "This is England”, “Four Lions" "Dead Man's Shoes" and many others.  Warps main target audience is the teens and the young adults.

We know that Warp is a successful company because they are known all over Britain and in Australia. They are also well known because of their style of work that is social realism this style connects well with their audience that can relate to the films and television programs this appeals to their preferred target audience. Warp are a small company that have a lot of competitors but the social realism appeals well to the audience this makes them "stand out from the crowd". Warp is internationally successful as they are known all over the world and very successful in Britain and Australia but are also known in America making $18,430 on the opening weekend with their film "this is England".

Warp are a small independent company this means that it has a lot of competitors like Wildgaze Films and Working Title. Warp being a small company they need to pay other companies to distribute and advertise their products. Warp stand out from the rest because of their relation and connection to their audience. Warp makes films that can be related to as real situations this makes them very successful.
Thank you for listening to decent banter.
